Maintenance Helper (Afternoon shift)

General Job Description:

Assist tradesperson in servicing production machines and robotics including preventative maintenance and repairs. This position encompasses working with jigs, fixtures, general machining and the manufacturing end of arm tooling.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation for helpers starts at $26 /hour
  • Shift Premiums ranging from +$0.40 (Afternoons)
  • RRSP Contributions with 3% matching
  • All Tools and Equipment required are Company Provided

Duties and Responsibilities:

You are responsible for supporting maintenance for all of production and is not area specific, this includes but is not limited to Paint Department, Injection/Assembly Departments and other departments as directed. You will also from time to time be required to work in our Stratford location and must be willing to support.

  • Assist with supporting production/maintenance in times of repair and/or trouble shooting injection processes.
  • Follow ALL policies and procedures, including all policies and procedures set out by Health and Safety
  • Help production with repairs to equipment and other related jobs.
  • Perform equipment OS’s daily/support maintaining PM’s as required.
  • Assist with set up and machine/build parts on various shop equipment starting at a beginners level.
  • Perform machine PM’s daily/support maintaining PM’s in IMM and Paint Departments as required.
  • Operate overhead crane and forklift while observing all safety standards.
  • Load and unload trucks as needed.
  • Flexible hours required.
  • Work in a safe manner within Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Maintain 5S in all assigned areas.
  • Attend pre-shift meetings as required
  • Work overtime as required
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • TG Minto may amend the reporting structure and/or duties and responsibilities as business needs require.

  • Ability to communicate with skilled trades at all levels of experience and management.
  • Must be willing to work Overtime when needed
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Must be able to meet all physical requirements of the role such as: bending, lifting (Heavy Objects), crawling etc

Education or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Previous experience in injection machine operation and/or set-up technician role is an asset
